There’s a lot of buzz spinning around right now about the new Apple laptop, MacBook Air. And it sure is.. well THIN, at any rate. Also extremely expensive. But what caught my eye was the revamped Apple TV 2.0. Here’s why I think it’s interesting:

1. Existing owners get a software upgrade and can then use the new features.
2. As much as the media would like us to believe that we are entering a brave new world where people watch movies on their computers and play with their robotic pets, fact is that the media wars will continue to be foght and won in the living room.
3. The idea of being able to stream movie rentals from Apple really puts the final nail in Blockbusters coffin, while simultaneously opening up a new (and oh so bloggable) rivalry between Apple and Netflix.

Here’s hoping I can see an Apple TV in action soon!
